Vail weddings are never not wonderful and as a Colorado Wedding Photographer, the Grand Hyatt Vail is quickly becoming one of our favorite Colorado mountain wedding venues. This September wedding was full of all of my favorite things – fall colors, an INCREDIBLE vendor team and a couple that couldn’t be more meant for each other.
Catie + Michael have been together for a good long time – much of their lives. So long that almost all of their core memories are with each other. It was such a special experience getting to hear all the stories from their friends + family about these two throughout the evening. These two met at 11 years old and started dating at 14 and getting to see the evolution of their lives and relationship through their wedding details was really special. You’ll see a scrabble board that Michael used to ask Catie to a school dane, photos of them throughout the years, and lots of really personalized details used in their decor.
From getting ready all the way to the end of the night, this incredible couple and their crew had such a fun time! Their ceremony was a unique outdoor catholic ceremony performed by Michael’s brother and had just about everyone crying tears of happiness. Cocktail hour was held on the Gore Creek Terrace and their reception in the Gore Creek Tent. The Radio Band put on a crazy good show and kept the dance floor packed all night long.
It’s hard to choose what my favorite part of this whole beautiful day was, but Catie’s uncle surprising them with a fun cover of “She’s in love with the boy” was 100% one of my top wedding moments EVER (and I think about how special this was, often). I really loved all of the beautiful floral installations and absolutely loved how these two shared the first dance to “Check yes or no” – a song that is part of their history. And just wait til you see Catie’s reception outfit – straight up magic.
I can’t even tell you how much love was present for these two – all of these wonderful people coming together through hell or high water to show how much they are loved and supported really what a wonderful couple they are. We were so thrilled to be able to photograph this day!
